Simple enough, really: this is a personal blog about games, gaming and (at a stretch) gaming culture. It’ll be hopelessly subjective and biased, but hopefully with a bit of fairness and rationality thrown in here and there. I’m planning to update with a larger post on Mondays along with smaller updates on Wednesdays and Fridays, which may well be a little ambitious for a first timer – better to start like that though, right?
As for myself, I’m Jeremy Thackray, a recent graduate of the University of Birmingham, where I studied English and History and tried to write about games every now and then in between essays, revision and other such nonsense. Although I’ve now left, as an ex-Arts student I’ll be the first to admit I can get a tad pretentious now and then, but so be it. If you read my first ever post, you’ll get more of an idea of what I’m talking about, as well as finding out the general direction of this blog. Essentially, I love games and wish to see them grow into a more accepted and esteemed part of our culture. See? Pretentious – but hopefully a little interesting too.
